Our online MS programs help you develop the competencies you need to add to your

Master of Science (MS) in Education - Advanced Classroom
Instruction (For Licensed Teachers)
The best teachers learn the most about teaching from their students. This online
program offers you the opportunity to incubate, share, and test ideas for your
classroom in collaboration with experienced faculty and other licensed teachers
from throughout the nation. Curriculum is designed to help you expand your reach
in classrooms that are academically, racially, ethnically and economically
diverse.

Throughout the program you will build a portfolio to demonstrate mastery of key
competencies and new skills. In your final course, you'll complete a specialized
practicum that bears out your status as an exceptional teacher.
Master of Science (MS) in Education - Curriculum and
Instruction (For Licensed Teachers)
Curriculum and instruction experts at the building and district level are in
high demand. In this online master’s degree specialization, licensed teachers
will gain key competencies through theoretical study and collaboration with
seasoned practitioners. You will acquire tools, techniques and technologies to
meet your district’s challenges of developing differentiated curriculum and
instruction methods.
Portfolio/practicum
Throughout the program you will build a portfolio to demonstrate mastery of
key competencies and new skills. In your final course, you will complete a
specialized practicum that bears out your status as an exceptional teacher.
Master of Science (MS) in Education - Enrollment
Management
Today's competitive higher-education environment demands
skilled enrollment management professionals. This specialization offers the
latest tools and strategies for enrollment management and is immediately
applicable to real-world demands. Curriculum focuses on effective enrollment
management, student retention, marketing strategies, technology applications,
and strategic enrollment planning. This program is offered in partnership with
Noel-Levitz, a nationally recognized consulting firm specializing in higher
education student recruitment and retention. Graduates of this specialization
will receive two credentials: a Capella University master's degree and a
Certification in Enrollment Management - a professional certificate issued by
Noel-Levitz*.
*As with all programs involving endorsement, licensure, or certification, individual states have varying requirements. Capella University cannot guarantee licensure, endorsement or certification will be granted. For this reason, it is important that learners interested in these programs contact the appropriate authority in their state. Capella University will be seeking approval of this new specialization from the states of Washington, Arizona, Wisconsin, Alabama, Virginia, and Kentucky. Until such approvals are granted, learners are advised that this program is not approved and may not qualify for certification, endorsement, or licensure purposes. Master of Science (MS) in Education - Instructional
Design for Online Learning
The online master’s degree specialization in instructional design for online
learning will prepare you to lead and manage instructional challenges in a
variety of online educational settings in community colleges, universities,
vocational, or other schools. Assignments and discussions cover how to plan,
organize, design, teach, and evaluate course work according to tested
principles for online learning.
Master of Science (MS) in Education - Leadership for
Higher Education
This MS specialization is designed for individuals interested in leadership
positions in higher education settings. Working with experienced higher ed
leaders, you will develop practical leadership skills to successfully lead
community and technical colleges and other 4-year institutions. This online
specialization is ideal for mid-career administrators that aspire to positions
such as dean of student affairs, registrar, director of financial aid, and
director of student services.
Master of Science (MS) in Education - Leadership in
Educational Administration (For Licensed Teachers)
This state-approved* online MS program leads licensed teachers toward principal
or superintendent licensure in their home states through preparation that meets
nationally recognized leadership standards, including the Interstate School
Leaders Licensure Consortium (ISLLC). Our program uses a multi-disciplinary
learning model designed to expand your leadership capabilities, while providing
practical strategies to increase student achievement. This results-oriented
program will fully prepare you to translate theory into effective leadership
practice, so you can make a profound, positive impact as you move forward to
school administration.

Adult Education
The online master’s degree specialization in postsecondary and adult education
will help you develop and enhance skills for effective teaching in a variety of
career and educational settings, including adult education, workforce
development, continuing education, higher education, and military education. The
curriculum focuses on major theories of adult learning and distance education
and supports successful strategies for enhancing learning for individuals with
diverse backgrounds.

Studies in Education
The master’s degree specialization in professional studies in education will
prepare you to excel as an educator in a variety of environments—such as
military and non-profit organizations, community colleges, adult education
programs, and others. This flexible online master's degree specialization is

career K-12 teachers with prior teaching experience who want to excel as highly
qualified master teachers in diverse school settings. The PhD program provides
master teachers with the tools they need to effectively address complex
educational issues and conduct research in aspects of K-12 instruction.

The professional studies in education PhD specialization is designed for

Performance Improvement
In this doctoral specialization, you will move theory into practice through
deepening your understanding of the strategic and tactical issues that are
critical to the success of performance improvement interventions. The training
and performance improvement curriculum is based on the American Society of
Training and Development's (ASTD) Human Performance Improvement Model.

Leadership for Educational Administration
This state-approved post-master's certificate in leadership in educational
administration is designed for educators who have at least three years of
licensed teaching experience and are seeking principal and/or superintendent
licensure in Minnesota. The online course work, internship, and residential
colloquium deliver Minnesota's 21 principal and eight superintendent
competencies to prepare learners to qualify for licensure and to succeed in K-12
administration. Graduate certificate credits can be applied toward our PhD
programs.
