Master of Business Administration

Strayer University's Master of Business Administration (MBA) program offers a vigorous, broad-based education for working professionals from a wide range of backgrounds who wish to advance or enhance their business careers. With a curriculum that prepares adult students for the emerging knowledge economy, the MBA program and emphasizes the latest concepts, practices, and skills in today’s rapidly changing marketplace. Students may choose from concentrations in Acquisition, Human Resource Management, Management, Marketing, and Supply Chain Management.

The concentration in Acquisition is currently not available to residents of South Carolina and Tennessee.

 

Master of Education

The new Master of Education program is designed to provide current K-12 teachers, school administrators, training and development professionals, and human resources managers and staff the knowledge and skills to pursue or advance their careers in education, HR, training, curriculum development, instructional technology, or trade and education association management. The M.Ed. program of study includes courses that focus on functional areas and critical knowledge in education as well as courses incorporating business skills and information technology tools. Upon completing the program, students will be able to apply key concepts, proven methodologies, and information technology skills to education problems, and activities. Students may choose concentrations in Educational Management and Technology in Education.

This program is currently not available to residents of South Carolina.

Master in Health Services Administration

The Master of Health Services Administration (MHSA) program is designed to meet the needs of healthcare professionals and others in health services support industries who wish to obtain the knowledge and skills needed to assume mid-level and Executive level managerial positions in health services organizations. The health services administration program prepares students by training them to manage and direct the business aspects of healthcare. Specific careers for which this degree can help students prepare, as identified by the Accrediting Commission on Education for Health Services Administration (ACEHSA), include hospital administrators, healthcare managers, managed healthcare plan coordinators, and administrators in short and long-term residential facilities.

Master of Public Administration

The Master of Public Administration (MPA) is the professional degree for people who want to enter public service at the management level. The academic focus is on developing analytical, conceptual and practical competencies that are common to Strayer University’s Master of Business Administration degree, but emphasizing the “public” perspective of administration. The program is designed to meet the graduate education needs of working professionals who wish to advance their careers, as well as business professionals such as contractors and consultants who perform a major part of their jobs working in a government environment. The program's curriculum replicates content recommendations of the National Association of Schools of Public Affairs and Administration (NASPAA).

 

Master of Science in Communications Technology

The Master of Science in Communications Technology (MSCT) program stresses the design, technical, managerial, and policy issues associated with developing communications systems that support modern organizations. Master of Science in Information Systems

The Master of Science in Information Systems (MSIS) program approaches information as an organizational resource that is subject to managerial planning and control, focusing on integration of data and distribTech Schoolon of information in helping organizations become more competitive. This professional degree program stresses the technical, managerial, and policy issues associated with building computer-based systems that support modern organizations. The MSIS program addresses the theoretical and practical aspects of specifying, designing, implementing, and managing systems that possess qualities such as portability, scalability, and interoperability (open systems). In addition, the MSIS program offers graduates most of the academic background necessary to pursue certification as a Certified Computer Professional (CCP).

Master of Science in Management Information Systems

Designed to prepare managers for supervisory and strategic roles in information systems departments, the Master of Science in Management Information Systems (MSMS) combines technical courses with management courses for a well-rounded approach to Information Systems (IS). Practicing IS professionals will gain insight into the business side of IS management and a more thorough view of the application of IS to business problems. The Graduate Certificate in Professional Accounting program was designed for mid- and senior-level managers and individuals seeking career changes or increased job opportunities. The curricula encompass the knowledge and skills needed in professional accounting. Within this curriculum, students have the option of choosing an emphasis in Accounting, Accounting Information Systems, Controllership and Taxation. With the exception of the Accounting emphasis, the recipient of the  graduate certificate may apply all credits earned toward a Master of Science in Professional Accounting with the same emphasis.

Graduate Certificate in Business Administration

The  Graduate Certificate in Business Administration program was designed for mid- and senior-level managers, professional and technical specialists, and individuals seeking career changes or increased job opportunities. The curricula encompass the knowledge and skills needed in pertinent professional areas. Within this curriculum, students have the option of choosing an emphasis in Human Resource Management, Management, Marketing, Acquisition, and Supply Chain Management. The recipient of the graduate certificate may apply all credits earned toward a Master of Business Administration.

The concentrations of Acquisition and Supply Chain Management are currently not available to residents of Tennessee.

The curricula encompass the knowledge and skills needed in pertinent professional areas. The recipient of the  graduate certificate may apply all credits earned toward a Master of Science in Computer Information Systems with the same emphasis. Within this curriculum, students have the option of choosing an emphasis in Communications Technology, Computer Information Systems, and Management Information Systems.

 

Diploma in Acquisition and Contract Management

Strayer University’s programs in acquisition and contract management prepare students to pursue careers in these specialized fields by providing current and relevant knowledge of contract management principles and policies in the corporate world and government agencies.

 

Supply Chain Management

The  Graduate Certificate in Business Administration program was designed for mid- and senior-level managers, professional and technical specialists, and individuals seeking career changes or increased job opportunities. The curricula encompass the knowledge and skills needed in pertinent professional areas. Persons interested should possess at least a bachelor’s degree in a related field. The recipient of the  graduate certificate may apply all credits earned toward a Master of Business Administration degree with the same emphasis. Also available: an Associate of Arts, Bachelor of Science, and an Undergraduate Certificate in Business Administration.

Strayer University has a long history of providing education in the area of Local Area Networks (LANs). The technologies have naturally expanded to include the design and engineering of Wide Area Networks (WANs). WANs are being implemented more frequently as companies network offices together.

Professionals with the skills to design, implement, and manage WAN technology are in high demand. This program stresses the process, analytic, design, planning, and engineering issues associated with internetworking technology within modern organizations. The courses examine the configuration and implementation of routers used in WANs and how they differ from bridges and switches.

Focus is also directed on the use of routers that connect WANs to Local Area Networks, illustrating the configuration and interfaces needed to support different network protocols.
