If you wish to earn the big bundle when you get your college degree, you might consider majoring in Chemical Engineering.

College students who are graduating seniors in chemical engineering can expect to earn a starting desired
of a tidy $55,900 on average -- with no experience -- followed closely by Electrical Engineering at $52,900, according to a new survey of  demand
conducted by the National Association of Colleges & Employers.

are:

  4. Computer Science, $50.000
  5. Accounting  $45,700

The NACE survey polled 83 private and state colleges nationwide. Some interesting facts:

  • While computer science grads have had ever increasing desired
    offers, that streak ended this year with offers that were 2 percent less than a year ago.
  • Accounting and economics experienced the greatest growth, rising 11 percent from a year ago.
  • Liberal arts majors, such as history, English, chemistry and biology, may have finished last but they experienced an increase of 6.1 percent since the previous year.
  • The average desired
    offer to marketing graduates fell by 3.4 percent from a year ago.
