The Bachelor of Science in Business in Communication (BSB/C) degree program is designed to develop the knowledge and skills for effective communication within the business environment. The communications specialization focuses on the development of professional competencies and values in such areas as public relations, communications theory, communication law and ethics, mass communication, media and advertising, and electronic publishing.


Bachelor of Science in Business/e-Business
The Bachelor of Science in e-Business (BSB/EB) Program blends business and information technology to address the emerging field of e-Commerce and e-Business. The program courses provide fundamental knowledge and application in both business and information technology.

Bachelor of Science in Business/Finance The Bachelor of Science in Business/Finance (BSB/F) program is designed for the working professional employed by a business or public organization. The program of study is designed to enable graduates to deal effectively with an increasingly complex business environment, emphasizing the professional and personal skills needed for effectively meeting organization needs. These skills include effective decision making, values, clarification, needs assessment, group facilitation, presentation, writing and leadership. The Finance major emphasizes fundamental accounting and finance concepts, theories, and practice to promote well-informed financial decision-making. Additional components of the major concentrate on managerial finance, investment fundamentals, portfolio management, and global finance. Students will integrate advanced topics in financial management through real-world business application.

The Bachelor of Science in Business program is designed to prepare graduates with the requisite knowledge, skills, and values to effectively apply various business principles and tools in an organizational setting. The BSB entry sequence exposes students to valuable theoretical knowledge and best practices in the areas of management, organizational behavior, research and evaluation, and critical thinking and problem solving. The Global Business Management Major emphasizes fundamental principles and practices of conducting global business activities. Components of the Major include: international marketing, international trade and investment, global finance, global human resource management, and global value-chain management. Students will integrate advanced topics in global business management through real-life applications. The program promotes the development of a ""global mindset"" and reflects the dynamic nature of global business realities.

In addition to the BSB business entry coursework, the global business management major stresses skill development in the areas of business law, accounting and finance analysis, computers and information processing, general marketing, and macro-economics.

This undergraduate degree program has a 60-credit Required Course of Study: 39 credits are allocated to the Bachelor of Science in Business/Global Business Management Major, 18 credits to business entry coursework, and 3 credits to the integrating course. Some courses have prerequisite requirements. In addition to the Required Course of Study, students must satisfy General Education and Elective requirements to meet the 120 semester-credit (124 for KS) minimums required for completion of the degree.


Bachelor of Science in Business/Hospitality Management
The Bachelor of Science in Business program is designed to prepare graduates with the requisite knowledge, skills, and values to effectively apply various business principles and tools in an organizational setting. The BSB entry sequence exposes students to valuable theoretical knowledge and best practices in the areas of management, organizational behavior, research and evaluation, and critical thinking and problem solving. The hospitality management major will prepare students for careers in the hospitality industry. The program emphasizes the development of skills in lodging management; food and beverage operations management; events and recreation planning; and facilities management. Bachelor of Science in Business/Public Administration
The Bachelor of Science in Business (Public Administration) program is designed to prepare graduates with the requisite knowledge, skills, and values to effectively apply various business principles and tools in an organizational setting. The BSB entry sequence exposes students to valuable theoretical knowledge and best practices in the areas of management, organizational behavior, research and evaluation, e-business, and critical thinking and problem solving. In the BSB program coursework, the curriculum addresses critical business issues in the areas of diversity, globalization, ethics. technology, and e-business. In addition to the BSB business entry coursework, the public administration major includes coursework in computers and information processing, management, financial analysis, accounting, business law, employment law, and marketing. The public administration major focuses on the efficient and effective Tech Schoollization of public resources to achieve the public purpose within a dynamic environment. The program will emphasize the foundations of public administration, public policy formulation, program development, implementation and valuation, human resources and labor relations, and public finance. Students will develop powerful leadership skills enabling them to successfully manage complex public programs.


Bachelor of Science in Business/Retail Management
The Bachelor of Science in Business/Retail Management (BSB/RM) program is designed to prepare graduates with the requisite knowledge, skills, and values to effectively apply various business principles and tools in an organizational setting. In addition to the Bachelor of Science in Business entry coursework, the retail management major includes coursework in computers and information processing, management, financial analysis, accounting, business law, marketing, buyer behavior, and international marketing. The retail management major focuses the student on the retail management environment. The program emphasizes skill development in strategic management, marketing, supply management, product and brand management, retail operations, merchandising, and personnel management unique to the retail industry. Upon completion of this program students will possess the knowledge and skills necessary to be leaders in the retail industry.

Education Programs


Bachelor of Science in Education/Elementary Teacher Education
The Bachelor of Science in Education/Elementary Teacher Education (BSEd/E) is an undergraduate degree program preparing candidates for teacher licensure. The guiding philosophy of the BSEd/E program is to provide students with the skills and knowledge that will allow them to become competent and effective educators.

This program focuses on elementary student learning by developing the skills of the educator responsible for that learning. Student teaching is an integral component of the Teacher Education Program. It provides students with a field-based experience at the appropriate grade and content level. Student teachers work with a cooperating teacher from a school site and with a university placements
faculty advisor. The student teaching experience is designed to emphasize the achievement of state standards leading to certification and to present individuals with growth opportunities that best prepare them to assume the dTech Schooles of a certified classroom teacher.

Throughout the program, students are required to complete a minimum of 100 hours of verified field experiences, covering a variety of developmental levels. The focus of each observation will relate to specific course content. Documentation will be maintained in the student’s professional portfolio. In addition to the required course of study, students must satisfy general education and elective requirements to meet the 120-credit minimum required for completion of the degree.

Bachelor of Science in Health Administration
The Bachelor of Science in Health Administration (BSHA) major is designed to integrate a foundation of general education and applied sciences with the expertise that prepares the graduate for management positions in health care. The Bachelor of Science in Health Administration curriculum addresses the basic body of knowledge, understanding, and skills identified to be relevant to health care administration.


Bachelor of Science in Health Administration/Health Information Systems
The BSHA Program is designed to integrate a foundation of general education and applied sciences with the expertise that prepares the graduate for professional careers in a variety of health care or related health settings. The BSHA curriculum addresses the basic body of knowledge, understanding, and skills identified as relevant to health care services such as management, finance and accounting, legal and ethical parameters, health and disease factors, and human and information resources. In addition, majors provide the student with initial educational preparation for careers in long term care and health information systems. Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice Administration
The Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice Administration provides students interested in policing, criminal law, or corrections with an interdisciplinary study of crime and justice in American society. The program's inclusion of interpersonal skills and managerial and administrative subject matter prepares students for positions of responsibility and leadership within the criminal justice community and related professions.


Bachelor of Science in Human Services
The Bachelor of Science in Human Services (BSHS) provides students the opportunity to learn the skills, knowledge, and attitudes of a professional human service worker. Through course work, students learn about human development, problems in human functioning, programs for helping people with their problems, advocacy and influencing public policy, and crisis intervention.

Bachelor of Science in Human Services/Management
The Bachelor of Science in Human Services/Management (BSHS/M) program prepares graduates by giving them knowledge and basic skills to work in the human services industry. The BSHS/M is an integrated program combing academic instruction in the foundations of human services, such as counseling, social work, and psychology, with the management skills of planning, organizing leading, assessing, and evaluating. This program prepares students for careers in management in the growing field of human services. And, is designed to be an applied degree that includes teaching students strategies and techniques of intervention and good management practices. Graduates will be prepared to make interventions at individual, family, group, organizational, and community levels, and to use sound management practices in a variety of human services settings.


Bachelor of Science in Organizational Security & Management
The Bachelor of Science in Organizational Security and Management degree is designed to address an increasing national and international need for greater technical competence and professionalism in the security industry. The distinctions between the roles of criminal justice agencies and private security organizations are recognized and the degree program provides the required knowledge for a student to develop competency and management skills in organizational security. While the program includes courses in Terrorism and Homeland Security, it also recognizes the depth and breadth of the discipline and provides a variety of courses designed to expose students to the entire spectrum of the security profession.


Bachelor of Science in Psychology
